Graduate School of Science
This project involved the refurbishment of redundant laboratory spaces in the science building to create the new Melbourne Graduate School of Science for the University of Melbourne at their Parkville Campus. Complex alterations and additions were required to fit out an entire floor of the Science building to create the new Graduate School of Science. Exceptionally limited timeframes made it necessary for the project to be delivered via a construction management process. The project required an extensive interior refurbishment with some exterior additions to provide a new front entry, contemporary interiors and abundant natural light throughout. The design achieved each of these objectives whilst maintaining a harmonious relationship between the new contemporary elements and the existing building fabric.
